Pardon my crudeness but this is some Twilight bulls#@t. A Gossip Girl as Carol Ferris? Yes, I do realize Lively’s been in other things. Films like The Private Lives of Pipa Lee, New York I Love You and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. None of the characters in those films scream Vice President of an Aerospace company. Lively is simply too young and she’s a GOSSIP GIRL. My pick would have been Eva Green or Emily Blunt. An actress born in the late seventies, early eighties, not one who has never used a pay phone.
To be honest, I was concerned about the Green Lantern project when Ryan Reynolds was cast. Not because he’s isn’t talented. He most certainly is. But Marvel has him cast as Deadpool for their film of the same name and in my comic book mind that doesn’t work. But that’s merely a small grievance that can and has been dismissed. However this Blake Lively business is a bit much. On the flip side, she may be aware of what she is taking on and she could perhaps surprise me. One can only hope.
